Electrical Design Engineer

About Us:
At AlteraFlex, we design and manufacture electronic solutions for high-growth industries, including medical, industrial, automotive, and consumer electronics. Our customers rely on us for quick-turn prototyping, turnkey PCBA, custom cable assemblies, and complete box builds. We are growing rapidly and looking for a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and help bring new ideas to life.
What You'll Do:
- Design and develop custom electronics for client and internal projects, including schematics and PCB layouts
- Create and review circuit diagrams, BOMs, and wiring harness drawings
- Support rapid prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, project management, and manufacturing teams
- Interface with customers to understand technical requirements and provide design solutions
- Assist with DFM/DFT efforts to ensure seamless transition from prototype to production
- Evaluate component selection for cost, availability, and compliance (e.g. RoHS)
- Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and release-ready for production
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design and/or product development
- Proficiency in tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or OrCAD
- Experience with PCB layout and knowledge of EMI/EMC best practices
- Familiarity with wire harness design, connectors, and cable assemblies
- Ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects at once
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance (UL, CE, FCC) is a plus
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in a contract manufacturing or product development firm
- Embedded firmware experience (C/C++)
- Understanding of power electronics or analog circuit design

Inside Customer Sales Representative
Scope:
The individual in this position is responsible for maintaining a positive relationship between AlteraFlex and its customers. The Inside Sales Representative will build strategic customer relationships by means of proactive interaction to meet business goals. Positive and energetic customer interface will encompass the majority of the workday in the form of telephone, e-mail and fax communications in an effort to succeed in gaining the opportunity to complete a customer’s order and increase the revenue of the corporation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to quote from drawings or information supplied by customers to adequately book orders
- Establish and maintain standard pricing levels at quotation
- Negotiate and follow up on sales quotations to secure and book job orders
- Address, resolve and communicate customer issues concerning manufacturability of products
- Complete error free order entry into pre-established software and systems
- Track job orders from booking to product release
- Understand and maintain database of records for backlog reconciliation
- Efficiently resolve issues with front end engineering to insure product releases are accurate and timely
- Communicate with manufacturing departments to resolve on time delivery and quality issues
- Maintain complete and accurate customer contact information
- Set forth to meet and achieve daily goals
- Responsible for providing and interpreting reports on sales activities and objective measurements
- Develop, solicit and generate new customer accounts
- Develop and maintain an organized work area
- Balance workload to meet goals
